CEDAR CREEK WILDFLOWERS

Cedar Creek

Cedar Creek Area

 Aspen

Red paintbrush adds some color to the groves of quaking aspen along the upper Cedar Creek Trail.

I was a couple of days behind Roy for a climb of Silver Moon Peak and had just set up camp when along comes Roy. He is on his way out from a successful climb. The weather is threatening but I decide to stay. The next day my climbing plans are ended by rain so I pack and start down the trail. The rain stops and I decide to use my small saw to cut brush out of the trail. I continue my work all the way down to the falls while the rain holds off. The cloudy skies give a soft light that is conducive to good wildflower photos so I take a lot of pictures. For a short video of the range of flowers I saw click here.

 Yellow flower

Lots of yellows...

 Pipsissewa Flowers

I find the pipsissewa hiding in some kinnikinnick.

 Leaf with red

Not all the color comes from flowers.
