Mount Rolo Route

The route I took on Mount Rolo

After climbing Devil's Peak Roy and Jim wanted to go home. I wanted to move camp down the Middle Fork of the Pasayten River and try for Mount Rolo. They went home while I took off for Rolo. Roy did give me two food packets to supplement my Top Ramen.

Instead of going clear to Freds Lake to camp (I wasn't sure I could even get there before dark) I opted to turn off on the trail

to lovely Ferguson Lake. It's about two miles as the crow flies from Ferguson Lake to Mount Rolo by following the ridge. Cross country travel in steep country is much slower than trail travel but I might save a bit of time.

Runnning the ridge was quite tedious but there were no major obstacles - except for the goat that rolled a rock toward me from the summit of Rolo. Honest...

Some pictures later, if I can find them.
